Specializing in Nephrology
Nephrology is a specialty of medicine that focuses on the study of normal kidney function, kidney problems, the treatment of kidney problems and renal replacement therapy (dialysis and kidney transplantation). Systemic conditions that affect the kidneys (such as diabetes and autoimmune disease) and systemic problems that occur as a result of kidney problems (such as renal osteodystrophy and hypertension) are also studied in nephrology.

Dr. Cynthia C. Griggs grew up in Detroit, Michigan and received her first degree from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) in Dental Hygiene in 1986. After developing a passion for medicine and healing, she went on to obtain a Medical Degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1993. Dr. Griggs then completed her Internal Medicine Residency in 1996 and her Nephrology Fellowship in 1998. Dr. C. Griggs opened her own private practice in 1999 where she currently practices.
